Project VIBRaNT began as a result of 2023 Tactical Advancements for the Next Generation (TANG) working group meeting, which included fleet operators and Surface Warfare Schools Command personnel. A critical challenge brought to the group was the need for a portable training-aide that could be used on ships for navigation and seamanship learning and rehearsal in between MSTC visits or on deployment.
