Who Are We?

We are an association at the center of Surface Warfare. Anyone can join; we represent the Surface Warfare Community. We were incorporated in 1985 as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Association to promote greater coordination and communication among military, business, and academic communities. For those who share a common interest in Surface Warfare while supporting the activities of the United States Surface Forces, we provide our members with support, programs, & various activities to enable professional growth, personal satisfaction, and camaraderie.

Founded in 1985, the Surface Navy Association (SNA) emerged to provide an organization that promotes recognition of the Surface Warfare community. Our history is rooted in supporting the United States Surface Forces and their evolving needs. Over the decades, we have grown to encompass a broad spectrum of activities and members, reflecting the diverse nature of surface warfare itself.

Our mission is to promote greater coordination and communication to those in the military, business, and academic communities. We strive to provide a forum for professional growth and personal development while preserving the heritage of Surface Warfare.
